| Does anyone else have access to my unit? |
No, unless you choose to give someone else access. If you do give someone else access to your unit it’s important that you give us their names.

| How does the access-gate system work? |
You are given a unique personal code. Entering this code into the front keypad opens the main gate and disarms the alarm in your unit. Once you are done in the unit, entering the code into the exit gate keypad opens the gate so you can leave and rearms your unit.

| How is my unit secured? |
Each unit contains an anti-theft and its own security alarm. Only you can gain access. The site is totally surrounded by a security fence, completely lighted at night and can only be entered by customers with gate access codes.

| Does Mini-Pac Storage provide a lock for the storage space? |
No, however you’ll find a complete selection of locks for sale in our store.

| Is there free parking for customers? |
Yes, parking while you are loading or unloading is always free. And, by the way, you’re also welcome to use our helpful loading carts free of charge.

| Does your facility accommodate large moving trucks and tractor-trailers? |
Most of our facilities can handle even the largest tractor-trailers.

| How safe is Mini-Pac Storage? |
We’ve installed the latest state-of-the-art security systems. Our properties are totally enclosed by fence topped with barbed wire. Each tenant is given a unique Gate Access Code that is known only by the tenant and authorized users of that unit. If a tenant feels the Gate Access Code has been comprised, we insist on issuing a new access code. Also, each unit is alarmed. Should someone ever open a unit without authorization, an alarm sounds.

| Do you sell boxes and packing supplies? |
Yes. We offer a variety of boxes and moving supplies to meet all your packing needs. The quality of the cardboard boxes is excellent and they will last a long time.

| Is there anything I need to do to prepare my unit before I move my belongings into it? |
No, your unit will be clean and ready for you on the day you move in.

| How should I pack my storage unit to make it easy to get to my items? |
There are some simple strategies that can really help – like putting the things you’ll want to get to easily in the front of the unit. It also helps to label boxes clearly and place them so the label shows and always leave a clear walkway in the center so you can get to all parts of your unit.

| Are there any items I can’t store? |
Common sense and state laws determine what may be stored. You alone control access to your storage space. Items you should never store include, but are not limited to, live animals, perishables, liquids, explosives, flammables, paint and cleaners. Remember to always drain fuel from gasoline engines before storing. Throw away anything that could possibly cause a fire. Do not store food or any item that could attract rodents or pests.

| May I store my gasoline-powered tools and vehicles? |
You can store gasoline-powered tools or vehicles, like lawn mowers, power tools. But since it is both unsafe and illegal to store gasoline, you must drain all fuel before storing these items.

| Okay, no combustible materials. What other things can’t I store? |
We do not permit the storage of hazardous, toxic or illegal substances. In addition, we do not allow customers to operate a business directly out of a unit, work on a vehicle, regularly bring customers to look at merchandise, fabricate, weld or process materials or inhabit a unit.

| Can I store old files? How about photographs and important papers? |
At Mini-Pac San Pedro, CA Storage facility we offer special climate controlled spaces that can protect important and delicate items like these from heat, cold and humidity.(Not available at Honolulu, HI Facility)

| How do I get my belongings to my space? |
We have freight elevators and pushcarts for your use.

| Do you provide moving equipment? |
Yes. You’ll find plenty of free, easy to use loading carts.

| How big are the doors to the units? |
At San Pedro, CA facility the door size depends on the size of the unit. Units are available with swing doors or roll up doors.
At Honolulu, HI facility all units have a 3-foot wide swing door.

| How big are your elevators? |
The entrance doorways to our elevators are 4’ wide by 8’ high. Inside, they are 6’ wide by 9’ long by 8’ high.

| How high are the ceilings of the units? |
Honululu, HI Facility: All units have ten-foot high ceilings.
San Pedro, CA Facility: Most units are ten-feet high. Container units are 8- feet

| Does your facility accommodate large moving trucks and tractor-trailers? |
Yes, Mini-Pac Storage allows entry by the largest tractor-trailers on the road today. All our roads loop through the facility.

| Do you have any advice on packing? |
Careful packing pays by preventing breakage and loss of small or fragile items. Moving time presents a great opportunity to weed out old or unneeded possessions that only take up storage space. Another tip: you’ll want plenty of sturdy corrugated cartons, packing paper, sealing tape and a magic marker-type pen.

The most important thing to keep in mind is always leave a clear center walkway to the rear of your space so you can easily reach any of your belongings

| What storage unit sizes are available? |
Mini-Pac Storage offers sizes from 5x5 (about the size of a small closet) to 10x30 (as big as a standard two-car garage) so it’s easy to pick a size that works for you.

| Can I come and view the facility and various storage spaces? Do I need an appointment? |
We welcome all visits to our facilities. However, we do recommend calling prior to your visit to ensure availability.

| What if, I need more space after I move in? |
A Mini-Pac Storage representative will be happy to help you select an additional space or transfer to a larger-size unit.

| What if I need more or less space after I move in? |
No problem. With month-to-month leases you can conveniently increase or decrease your unit size at any time (subject to availability).

| How do I rent a unit? |
Simply select the location most convenient for you, and choose the size unit you want. (Using the search and information tools on our home page makes it easy.) Then reserve your space online or call the location directly.

| Is there a minimum or maximum length of time I can store things? |
Our minimum contract is for one month. Your contract then runs month to month automatically self-renewing every month. There is no limit on how long you can rent your space.

| Am I renting the space month to month or am I on a lease? |
You are renting your space -- one month at a time -- for as many months as you like. You can stop renting at the end of any month.

| Do I pay rent for my unit from the beginning of the month? |
Whenever you want to begin renting a unit – any day of the week or month – is okay with us. Your rental contract will run from month-to-month and payment is due by the first of each month.

| How long a contract do I have to sign? |
Each contract, either for personal or commercial storage, is month-to-month. Your contract is automatically renews each month.

| Is there a security deposit? |

Only businesses receive invoices. Private customers simply pay monthly the way they would for an apartment.
